Kinchakumi

A little over a year ago, we did all the exhibitions at the Musée de confluence in Lyon. One of them was Yokainoshima. I saw some works there, magnificent and strikingly strange, but also very inspiring. Even before I left the exhibition, a drawing was forming in my head. Influenced both by this exhibition and by the design of characters and monsters like from games like Darksouls.

I sketched this idea and the file had been on my Windows desktop ever since. When my SSD died a few weeks ago, this draft was lost, but the idea was still in my head.

This weekend I finally took the time to bring to life this weird character I had in mind. So this is Kinchakumi.
